Window creation2

Beautiful windows are being created and installed! Steven is doing an amazing job!

Thank you to all the volunteers who are helping make this a reality!

Today (Friday September 20th) at 1pm a new window is being installed. If you are in the neighborhood (31st and Paradise in HPP, here in Hawaii) please stop by and assist for a few minutes. Many hands make light work!

If you would like to donate to the building fund please go to our donations page. We have a goal to raise $2500 by the first week of October to pay off our remaining balance on our Home Depot loan so we don’t incur interest!! Any donation amount would be appreciated!

Eternal Spring …

“April is a promise that May is bound to keep.” by Hal Borland

This month at the Center we have been celebrating “renewal!” What a wonderful word and more wonderful still is the feeling behind it – the fresh new feeling of spring. The rush of excitement as we anticipate all the joy that we know is just around the corner.

SkagitCounty

And as we look forward we might notice that some of us are suffering from ‘Spring Fever.’ Our symptoms usually include an uncontrollable urge to sleep in the shade of a huge old tree in a big hammock while someone brings us sassafras tea. Here in Hawaii though, we always have this urge because our weather is like a perpetual spring time!

Celebrating the return of life is going on all around us. I don’t plant a garden in the spring, but the whole process is in my DNA and probably yours too. I remember, as a child, the seed catalogs and the garden designs … the constant exchange of information, clippings and tools.

Happy Spring everyone – happy renewal!

Happy New Year!

So much has happened at the Center For Spiritual Living. Our building is coming along, beautifully.

Both mosaics in place and they look incredible!

At the same time that all of this is going on, inside – elaborate preparations for the stain-glass display on the alter wall.

Crazy Cool!

Wow!

And as if this is not enough miraculous activity, in the mean time our congregation is growing and expanding and services are held every Sunday.

stories, poems … spoken thoughts.

So that is it for now, sorry if you didn’t see your photo here, I wanted to use them all! There are a lot of wonderful photos on our Facebook page: Center for Spiritual Living East Hawaii.

I leave you with a little poem by William Arthur Ward;
“Another fresh new year is here… Another year to live! To banish worry, doubt, and fear, to love and laugh and give!”

Oh! And I almost forgot,

2012

… ever important, saves us having to walk over to the office!

… and one more thing, we actually did have an inspector on site and everything meets with his approval …

The Church Cat.

… he was a little surprised to find so much finished.

AHOWAN: Peace Peregrination

Schedule for Sessions; September 28, 29 & 30 at the Center for Spiritual Living in Hawaiian Paradise Park. Participants have the option to pick and choose which sessions to attend. Suggested “Love Offering” of $20.00 per session. All proceeds from this weekend will go directly to the Center for Spiritual Living East Hawaii Building Fund.

Intender’s Circle and Oneness Blessing
Day One: Friday September 28, 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

The weekend begins as an evening experience of guiding each person through the Intention process and oneness blessing. Each participant receives an Intender’s Handbook: Intenders.com. We begin by focusing on gratitude for what has already manifested in our lives. There is an instruction period on how to create our intentions for a positive experience. The Intender’s Circle allows us to support and learn from each other in holding to our intentions. The Intention process is followed by the Oneness Blessings.

The Oneness Blessing, or Deeksha (blessing in Sanskrit), is a direct transference of Intelligent Sacred Energy through a Oneness Blessing giver. It facilitates a neurobiological change in the brain helping to bring us from the seat of ego into higher states of consciousness. Deeksha is dogma-free and does not belong to any particular religion, philosophy or belief system. (Onenessuniversity.org)

AHOWAN

Awakening Humanity to Oneness with All Nature (AHOWAN) has traveled to 49 states in this last year presenting their Nature Oneness Weekend Experience. The Center for Spiritual Living East Hawaiʻi will host their completion of a 50 state tour on September 28 – 30 in Hawaiian Paradise Park at the corner of Paradise Drive and 31st Street.

On Sept. 21, 2011 Myshell Howler and Dr. Ron Landau left Dayton & Columbus, Ohio with of a 2007 Harley Road King motorcycle, a 2009 Honda Element, a 10 X 12 foot tent, a Stinger motorcycle trailer, and Daymon & Mia, their two dogs. After crisscrossing the nation and Canada they left their mobile Spiritual Sanctuary behind to fly to the Big Island.

The Nature Oneness Weekend Experience is a series of six workshops (all are children friendly) that can be taken individually or as a whole. It starts on Friday with Intentions and Oneness Blessing. The weekend continues on Saturday morning with Pet Behavior and Health as Oneness. This workshop leads us into Nature as Teacher & Guide into Oneness. Which then expands to a contemplation of World Religions & Nature as Oneness. Saturday ends with experiencing our oneness by Animal Spirit Drumming. On Sunday the weekend wraps up by experiencing and working with tools that allow us to continuously remove the illusion of separateness from our Living the Joy. A suggested love offering of $20 per session (though, no one is refused for financial reasons) will benefit the CSL building fund.

Dress A Girl Around the World

Our Monthly Dress A Girl Around the World Project

This Sunday, 09/02/2012 at 11:30 am, after services, in our Center many of us will gather to sew and decorate dresses for girls around the world! Everyone and anyone is welcome. Bring a lunch, various & sundry sewing items and your humor. There are usually sewing machines available if you don’t have one. Don’t sew? Please come anyway, we still need you, in addition to making the dresses we also decorate them.

Here are some of the little girls in their new dresses!

We can always use more sewers and decorators. Please join us!

Our Beautiful Slate Exterior

It doesn’t hurt to have a master-tile artist as the General Contractor, this work is so beautiful!

The first wall that was finished. Also notice the fascia board is in place – Wow it really looks fantastic!

It just seems silly to just keep saying how beautiful this is, but it really is.

Not every tile has been set by Lonny (although most have) but he has kept a close watch that the pattern is perfect and the work looks as though it has all been done by one person. Important on a project like this.

Look at the artistry of those corners, the illusion of a completely stone building is created!

A Contemporary Cathedral!

Each piece is set precise and strait.

Look closely at the colors!

The colors in the slate are really insanely gorgeous. Talk about a color pallet. Notice the rusts, the grays (neutrals – greens – blues) the browns and the charcoal blacks. And every variation there of. Exquisite!

Please leave a comment and let us know what you think of the progress so far or about anything on your mind. And be sure to check us out on Facebook there are more pictures there! See you Sunday.
